Let’s talk about NAFTA: Member Advocacy Package

The Latino Canadian Chamber of Commerce is encouraging our members to reach out to your U.S. customers, suppliers, and partners to emphasize the importance of NAFTA and free trade. Negotiations will be held throughout the fall of 2018, so the time to talk is now.

The U.S. is Canada’s largest trading partner with $2.4 billion in goods and services and 400,000 people crossing the border each and every day. Close to 9 million Americans and 2 million Canadians have jobs that are directly linked to trade between the U.S. and Canada.

Our member advocacy package provides talking points, templates, and data you can send to your U.S. customers, suppliers, and partners. It also includes a draft letter your U.S. partners can use to contact their elected officials.

The package includes:

  • Email and/or letter template for Latino Canadian Chamber of Commerce members. (PDFWord Doc).
  • U.S. trade data fact sheet. Customize your communication with the data from the states and regions you do business within (PDF).
  • Suggested tweets / social media posts you can share, including links to relevant data (PDFWord Doc).
  • Draft letter with suggested content for U.S. based businesses, encouraging your customers, suppliers, and partners to contact their elected officials (PDFWord Doc).

The $1.3 trillion in annual trade that NAFTA represents is critical to the economic health of both our countries, so let’s talk about it. Get informed and make an impact. This is vitally important.
